(a) If a voting device becomes inoperative during the conduct of an election, the election officers shall seal the voting device in a manner that prevents further voting on that voting device. (b) The Department shall maintain and hold in readiness a reasonable number of extra voting devices that can be supplied to election districts where a voting device has become inoperative. The Department shall take reasonable steps to ensure rapid delivery of these voting devices when needed.
