Retirement for disability
N.J. Stat. § 43:10-32
in effectA member of such police force who shall have sustained a permanent disability by reason of an accident incurred at any time in the service, or by reason of disease contracted in the service, shall, upon the certificate of a physician designated for that purpose by the board having charge of the force, be retired upon a pension equal to one-half of his salary at the time of his retirement.
