(a) If authorized at an election held in accordance with Section 3821.152 , the district may impose an annual ad valorem tax on taxable property in the district for the: (1) maintenance and operation of the district and the improvements constructed or acquired by the district; or (2) provision of a service. (b) The board shall determine the tax rate. Added by Acts 2005, 79th Leg., Ch. 729 (H.B. 2019 ), Sec. 1.03, eff. April 1, 2007.
