(40 ILCS 5/7-167) (from Ch. 108 1/2, par. 7-167) Sec. 7-167. Separation benefits - Payment. Separation benefits shall be paid in the form of a single cash sum as soon as practicable after receipt by the board of: 1. a written application by the employee for such benefits; and 2. written notice from the last employing participating municipality or instrumentality thereof or participating instrumentality, certifying that such participating employee has separated from service.
