In addition to requesting a temporary or permanent injunction under Section 562.201 , the attorney general may request a civil penalty of not more than $20,000 for each violation on a finding by the court that the defendant has engaged in or is engaging in an act or practice defined as unlawful under this chapter or Section 17.46 , Business & Commerce Code. Added by Acts 2009, 81st Leg., R.S., Ch. 1331 (H.B. 4341 ), Sec. 1, eff. April 1, 2010.
