Miss. Code Ann. § 77-9-15
in effectIf any common carrier shall give to any person a free pass or ticket, or transport him free of charge, contrary to law, such common carrier shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be fined not less than fifty dollars.
