Miss. Code Ann. § 59-21-23
in effectCertificates of number may be cancelled or voided under the following circumstances:
Surrender of certificate for cancellation;
Issuance of a new number for the same vessel;
Issuance of a marine document by the Bureau of Customs for the same vessel;
False or fraudulent certification in an application for number;
Willful mutilation, defacing, or altering of a number.
