in effectAn auxiliary organization that was in existence on August 31, 1980, shall continue to operate under Article 6 (commencing with Section 72670) of Chapter 6 of Part 45, as it read immediately prior to August 30, 1980, until the time, if any, that the organization is recognized pursuant to this article.
