§ 37-23-51 authorized the board of education of certain counties to pay for instruction of children requiring special education. Former
§ 37-23-55 authorized the board of trustees of any municipal separate school district of a municipality having a population of more than 150,000 to pay private schools for furnishing special education services to qualified residents of the district.
