in effectAny person or agent or officer thereof, who violates any provision of this article, except the provisions of Section 405, is guilty of a misdemeanor, punishable by a fine of not less than fifty dollars ($50) and not exceeding one thousand dollars ($1,000), or imprisonment for not exceeding six months, or both.
