1. If the Secretary of State finds that an application for registration filed by a foreign limited partnership conforms to law and all requisite fees have been paid, the Secretary of State shall issue a certificate of registration to transact business in this State and mail it to the person who filed the application or the person’s representative. 2. A certificate of registration does not authorize a foreign limited partnership to engage in any business or exercise any power that a limited partnership may not engage in or exercise in this State.
